What's the Dress Code?
The dress code is Black Tie Optional. Gentlemen can opt for a dark suit and tie instead of a tuxedo. Ladies, a full-length dress is ideal or an elevated cocktail dress is also appropriate. We can’t wait to see you all dressed up and ready to celebrate with us!
What is a Second Line?
A wedding Second Line is a classic New Orleans tradition. It starts with a brass band playing upbeat music, leading the newlyweds and the band as the “First Line.” Guests make up the “Second Line,” joining the parade with dancing, handkerchiefs, and parasols.
This Southern custom symbolizes the start of a new journey together and invites everyone to share in the couple’s happiness.
Why New Orleans?
Miles’ family is from Louisiana, and his parents met at LSU. Early on in their relationship, Miles took Sophia to visit and she fell in love with the city, the culture, food, and architecture. Before they were even engaged, Sophia knew that a New Orleans wedding was her dream. The Bride and Groom are thrilled to share this special place with you and celebrate their love in a city that means so much to them both.
What time should I arrive?
We kindly ask that all guests arrive by 1:45pm to be seated by 2:00pm sharp. Please note that late arrivals will not be permitted to enter once the ceremony has started.
How are we getting to the reception from the ceremony?
The Roosevelt could not be closer to the church, so after the wedding ceremony is over we will walk directly across the street.
